Seeking an Anthroposophist who is Waldorf Trained and Experienced in Early Childhood to Lead our Mixed Age Kindergarten
The Micha-el school, located in a picturesque suburb of Portland, is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher for fall of 2012.
Hours: 8:30-12:30 M-F (not including set up and clean up/meetings and events).
$2,000 a month, without benefits for our lead teacher.
The lead teacher must be able to hold a large group of children with a gentle firmness. Experience and Waldorf training are a must. If you do not have a commitment to Anthroposophy, understanding of the development of the human being and Waldorf Teacher Training please do not apply at this time.
In August 2011, the school was pleased to move to a new location. We are blessed with over 8 acres at our disposal. There are blueberries, a grove of oaks, a duck pond and meandering trails to enjoy daily. We are adjacent to the wonderful North Clackamas park, which has many additional amenities. Next year our school will be K-8. We are a growing school with two Kindergartens. Our specialty subjects include: German, Spanish, Eurythmy, Handwork and Games, as well as Woodworking and orchestra for the upper grades. The Micha-el Institute, a Waldorf Teacher Training led by John Miles, shares a home with us on the weekends. Many of the students of the Institute work closely with the Faculty to support our school with various events and fulfill their practicum. We have an inspiring faculty that share a love of Anthroposophy and a joy for children. We work with the intentions of Rudolf Steiner as well as having the freedom to hold and support our classes based on their individual needs.
Please send a resume and letter of intent to Brittina Gates, on behalf of the College of Teachers.
No phone calls please.
